Formed in 2007 by Debbie Gaughan and John Donovan, Bygone Productions is a children's video production company that is dedicated to producing quality entertainment for the young and young at heart.
Debbie Gaughan grew up in beautiful Durango, Colorado and headed south to St. Edward's University in Austin, Tx. where she graduated magna cum laude with a BA in Theater Education. After a short teaching stint, she headed back to her birthplace of Lawrence, Kansas, to attend the University of Kansas for her masters degree in Children's Theater. She graduated with honors and a passion to involve children in theater. That passion lead her to Dallas, Texas where she joined the Dallas Children's Theater as a teacher and actor for the next 13 years. During her time in Texas, she spearheaded over 300 creative drama workshops and residencies. She also had the opportunity to travel throughout Texas as an educational consultant for Pre-K teachers, demonstrating the implementation of creative drama in daily lesson plans.
John Donovan is a native Californian and attended St. Mary's College. While there, he found comedy to be his thing. He hit the comedy road and never looked back. While doing a gig in Durango he met Ms. Gaughan, convinced she was "the one", he moved to Texas to pursue her. Once he wore her down, they married and have enjoyed 19 years together. As a couple, they began writing and are Telly Award winning writers. John has been involved in music as a composer, lyricist and performer for over 20 years. He was a writer/voice artist for the WB 100+ and now is currently at Disney where he is surrounded by inspiration.
